Krešimir Damjanović on DA’18

Krešimir Damjanović is an architect of the younger generation, lives in Zadar, a town where he was born. He is employed in Nikola Bašić studio, one of the best Croatian architects, famous for the memorial burials of the killed firefighters at the Kornati Islands and the Sea Organs and the Greeting to the Sun in Zadar. From his mentor Bašić, he learned “how to affirm local values in architecture, in the spirit of time”. The legacy of the Mediterranean architecture and it means a lot: “I have the intervention of architects such as Alfred Albini, Ivan Vitić and Božidar Rašica on Zadar peninsula because they create Mediterranean architecture in the language of modernity.”

He is the winner of the Shinkechik Award 2017 , awarded by the famous Japanese architectural magazine a +u for innovative projects based on the decision of only one selector, and this year it is Go Hasegawa!

Krešimir Damjanović je arhitekt je mlađe generacije, živi u Zadru, gradu odakle je rodom. Zaposlen je u studiju Nikole Bašića, jednog od  najboljih hrvatskih arhitekata, poznatog po Spomen-krstovima poginulim vatrogascima na Kornatima te Morskim orguljama i Pozdravu Suncu u Zadru. Od svog mentora Bašića naučio je “kako kroz arhitekturu afirmisati lokalne vrijednosti, a u duhu vremena”. Naslijeđe mediteranske arhitekture i znači mu mnogo: “Dopadaju mi se intervencije arhitekata kao što su Alfred Albini, Ivan Vitić i Božidar Rašica na zadarskom poluostrvu jer stvaraju mediteransku arhitekturu jezikom moderne”.

Dobitnik je nagrade Shinkechiku, 2017. godine, koju dodjeljuje kultni japanski arhitektonski časopis a+u inovativnim projektima na osnovu odluke samo jednog selektora, a ove godine to je Go Hasegawa!
